Jack Burton Carpenter is one of the pioneers of snowboarding. Born in April 1954 in New York City, and skiing since the age of 7, Burton imagined bringing the sensations of waterboarding to the snow. In 1977, he created his own company and the first snowboard model, the "Blackhill". By 1985, he was expanding in Europe and establishing himself as the market leader in this sport.
