The building houses a rich and eclectic program of operas, plays, dance...
Archduke Ferdinand Karl had the court theater built on this site in 1653-1655. In its place, the new building, which still stands today, was erected in 1844-1846 in the classicist style to designs by Giuseppe Segusini. Between 1961 and 1967, the State Theatre was enlarged and modernized. Operas, operettas, theater and dance feature in the eclectic program. There are also shows for children. On-site catering. Vive le spectacle vivant!
