Rectangular shaped chapel with an altarpiece representing St. Anne and the Virgin, and an inn for pilgrims on site
Erected on a hill overlooking the bay, this 1758 chapel has the charm of simplicity. Its rectangular forms, devoid of ornamentation, call for quietude and contemplation. The interior features an admirable altarpiece depicting Saint Anne and the Virgin Mary. It is said to have been acquired in Flanders in 1573 and brought to Pasaia by boat. Every year, on July 26, a mass commemorates the feast of Saint Anne. The hermitage houses a hostel for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela, located in the annex building.
