CASA VICTOR HUGO
House in Pasaia that was the refuge of Victor Hugo, presenting a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions
This 17th century house was the refuge of the illustrious writer during the summer of 1843. Seduced by the surroundings, he wrote a detailed description of the village of Pasaia in his book Journey to the Pyrenees. Today the house houses the Tourist Office on the ground floor, the permanent exhibition "Victor Hugo, Journey to Memory" on the first floor, while the second floor is devoted to temporary exhibitions. In the multimedia area, a film retraces the history of Pasaia in the 19th century through the writer's point of view.
