Located two kilometres from Bagnoles-de-l’Orne, Château de Couterne has been in the de Frotté family for 14 generations. Its patron was Jehan de Frotté, a poet at the court of Marguerite de Navarre. The building’s brick and granite foundations date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. With a surface area of 3 hectares, the French-style park offers both short and long paths, with 3 km of wooded paths and marked tree species. The exhibition room, open in summer, features 250 objects retracing the history of the house and the region.
