CHAUTAUQUA HISTORIC SITE & PARK
In the 1890 s, Texas Board Texas Board of Regents was interested in creating a summer retreat for its teachers in a cool climate. The Chautauqua movement is then very popular and the idea of associating itself with him to establish this school is necessary. Boulder, which offers the necessary land, becomes the home land of the Chautauqua School, a unique cultural, intellectual and educational retreat in western Canada and built on a 6 week program.
Today, if the program has disappeared, the place is one of the few schools in Chautauqua still existing in the country and has become an historic site. The complex has been designed to accommodate tourist accommodation, a Visitor Center, a restaurant and a small grocery store. It is also regularly used for concerts, events and private events.
What has made the site successful since its inception is its scenic location at the foot of the Flatiron Mountains.
It's Chautauqua Park. The adjacent park offers an incredible network of walking and cycling on more than 5 hectares of rock training at the foot of the Green Mountains. A unique site with a view of the valley, between meadows and mountain landscapes.
