Museum exhibiting numerous pieces in a former palace dedicated to Cristóbal Balenciaga, the prince of fashion born in Guetaria

The opening of this museum dedicated to the prince of fashion, Cristóbal Balenciaga, born in Getaria in 1895 (and died in 1972), took place in 2011, after many years of waiting. The museum occupies a former 19th-century palace, to which a modern building has been added. Its surface area covers more than 5,000 m², and some 90 pieces are on permanent display. A separate area is reserved for temporary exhibitions. a total of 1,200 pieces are kept here by the Balenciaga Foundation.
