LVR INDUSTRIE MUSEUM - MUSEUM OF THE RHINE INDUSTRY

Distributed at a number of sites in the city of Oberhausen, north-west of Essen, the main building of which is a former zinc plant, the museum revives the industrial history of the Ruhr, the heavy industry of the th century until the Second World War. The other sites include an industrial station - with a historic steel transport train - a high furnaces site and a warehouse, all located in Oberhausen. A series of exciting temporary exhibitions complement the picture, focusing on the most varied aspects of this story: working culture, technical, social studies, landscapes, town planning, architecture…
