KENNEDYPLATZ
In the heart of the Stadtkern, this great pedestrian esplanade surrounded by buildings and other buildings of the years 1960-70, the Kennedyplatz is emblematic of the veil of modernity which the centre of Essen wanted to take care of. The buildings bordering on it are typical of the FRG (economic miracle) of the FRG, with its American style, but with German dimensions. The square, still very lively with its terraces in the beautiful season and its frequent festive gatherings, is the point of convergence of all energies, both summer and winter.
