The white-sand islet in the south of the island - in Shimaoré, Mtsanga Tsoholé, which literally means "rice beach" according to local legend - is 453 meters long and 148 meters wide, and is a major tourist attraction. It can be reached at low tide, whereas it is almost invisible at high tide. Not a single tree offers any shade. Photographs taken on site can be excellent souvenirs of this place lost in the middle of the ocean, and give a glimpse of the smallness of man in the face of the immensity of nature.
