Since 1998, the Oulanga na Nyamba association has been actively involved in protecting the environment ("oulanga") and sea turtles ("nyamba") in Mayotte. Between its awareness-raising, knowledge and protection actions, the association offers its members the chance to observe sea turtle egg-laying on Moya beach several times a month. Kaz'a Nyamba, Mayotte's sea turtle care and discovery center, currently under construction, is due to open its doors in Petite-Terre in September 2025.
