Bordered on one side by the pretty Faré beach where the sunsets are sumptuous, and on the other by the lagoon, with its restaurants and night bars, it is the only way to get to Dzaoudzi. It starts at the Four-à-Chaux roundabout in Labattoir. The dike that opened up the "rock" was built by the French in 1850, at the beginning of colonization. It is on the islet of Fongoujou that the French administration managed its colonies in the Indian Ocean before moving to Madagascar, then Moroni.
