Every year, in the middle of June, the largest pow-wow in the Midwest is held, with more than 1,200 Native American dancers and musicians. During this gathering, which is intended to bring the cultural heritage of the Amerindians to life, people wear traditional clothing, take part in a dance tournament and a large colourful parade. Also food and craft stands. It is in Onamia, on the shores of the lake of the same name, that the festivities are held.
