From Rhêmes-Notre-Dame you'll have to walk for about two and a half hours, but from the chapelle de Pellaud, it takes just five minutes to reach the lake of the same name, a veritable pearl of the Alps, set in a small wood with picnic tables just waiting for you. It's a kind of locus amoenus that's very accessible, where the extremely clear, emerald-green water, on sunny days, conveys its peace and serenity. A magical getaway!
