VALLON DE LOO
The Vallon de Loo, on the orographic left of the Lys, is one of the wildest and most unspoilt in the Vallée de Gressoney. The hike starts at the hamlet of Loomatten, through a beautiful coniferous forest on a mule track that is still clearly visible and paved. After a natural panoramic balcony, the path becomes fairly flat and crosses an attractive alpine plateau with high-mountain meadows, alpine chalets and summer cows. You can continue on to the Col du Loo, at 2,450 m altitude, overlooking the neighbouring Piedmont.
