THE MONT-BRÛLÉ
A 300-metre-high sandstone hill with a splendid view of the La Ferrière-aux-Etangs quarry.
In the heart of the La Ferrière-aux-Étangs forest, Mont-Brûlé offers a pleasant, cool interlude on the GR22. A tourist and religious site, walkers follow a Way of the Cross, blessed in 1926 by Abbé Bertrand, to the heights culminating at 302 meters above sea level. Once past the replica of the Lourdes grotto, the summit reveals a panoramic view of the Orne river and a pond nicknamed the "Blue Lagoon". From the Calvary of Christ to the fluorite aspect of the quarry pond, Mont-Brûlé offers a journey rich in symbolism.
