DE LANGE JAN
This 90 meter high octagonal tower has a beautiful view of the island of Walcheren
This octagonal tower has become the town's landmark. Built in the 14th century, it burned down several times during its history. It is part of the abbey, which has two churches dating from around 1300, which once formed a single complex. The 90-metre-high Lange Jan Tower is one of a kind. You have to climb some 200 steps to reach the top (crowned with an imperial crown in memory of William of Orange). From the top, you have a magnificent view of the island of Walcheren. Impressive and unique! Not to be missed.
