TOWN HALL
City Hall of the 16th and 17th centuries, decorated with remarkable statues representing important princes and emperors of Nijmegen.
This 16th- and 17th-century town hall was first restored by the famous Pierre Cuypers (designer of the Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam railway station), who added a wing in the same style. Largely destroyed by bombing during the Second World War, it was restored in 1953. The exterior is adorned with sculpted statues representing princes and emperors who played an important role in Nijmegen's history. The interior contains beautiful rooms decorated in the traditional style. The walls of the Trêveszaal are decorated with tapestries.
