LIBERATION ROAD
Historical site recalling the events of 1944 to 1945 in the region of Arnhem, Nijmegen and the Veluwe.
The Liberation Route retraces the events that took place across Europe between 1944 and 1945. Here, an almost 7-kilometre-long route runs through the city center, taking us back to the Battle of Arnhem (September 1944). During Operation Market Garden, Allied troops attempted to seize the bridges over the main rivers, including the Arnhem bridges, in one fell swoop. All routes (hiking, cycling or mountain biking) are listed on the website, as are museums, monuments and cemeteries linked to the Second World War.
