On the way back to Oslo, you can take the small road 156 on the right up the Nesodden peninsula to the church. 1.5 km to the north lies Røer, a well-hidden medieval farmhouse inhabited by the same family since 1600. This hilly, forest-covered peninsula was once so isolated that a medieval language survived here much longer than elsewhere. Today, the ferry between Nesodden and Oslo is very popular with tourists and bathers.
