Pak Tai Temple is a must-see in Cheung Chau. Dedicated to Pak Tai, protector of fishermen, it was completed in 1783, marking the miraculous end of a plague epidemic. This sacred site is the vibrant heart of local festivities. Every year, on the3rd day of the3rd lunar month, his birthday is celebrated with great pomp. But it's especially during the Cheung Chau Bun Festival that it shines: three towers of buns are erected here, climbed not by the Taoist faithful but by seasoned athletes, perpetuating a colorful tradition.
