TANG CHUNG LING ANCESTRAL HALL
Visit to a traditional village to discover a 500-year-old temple founded by the Tang family
Located in Fan Ling, not far from Tai Po, this is one of Hong Kong's most important ancestral monuments. Erected in 1525, this magnificent traditional building honors the ancestor Tang Chung Ling, founder of the powerful Tang clan, one of the five great families of the region. With its tiled roofs, richly carved pillars and altars dedicated to the ancestors, the hall embodies the architecture and cultural rituals of ancient China. A visit well worth the detour.
