On Mont de Changsha, this academy, founded in 976 under Emperor Kaibao's reign and today attached to the University of Hunan, is one of the four most prestigious historical academies in China. Rare for an institute of knowledge, it has crossed all dynasties, from Song to Qing. The greatest scholars taught here, in the image of Confucian Zhu Xi (1130-1200) or Zhang Shi (1133-1181). Come here to admire the magnificent architecture of the buildings and enjoy the quiet gardens.
