MUSEUM JUNE 44
Small museum in L’Aigle, presenting the Battle of Poche de Falaise, evoking scenes with wax figures
This small museum is a curiosity in itself. Don’t expect the very latest in scenography, but rather a museum that has remained "as it was" since its creation in 1953. Here, the Appeal of June 18 and the Battle of the Falaise Pocket are evoked by reconstructed scenes with wax figures, soundtracked by real recordings of the historical figures of the time (Pétain, de Gaulle, Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin...). A 36 m² animated strategic map explains the Battle of Normandy.
