MUSEE DEPARTEMENTAL DES SAPEURS POMPIERS
Musée des sapeurs-pompiers de l'Orne (Orne firefighters' museum), displaying some 70 vehicles
On the banks of the N12, identifiable by the USDP61 pennant, the "house" of the Orne fire department, founded in 1988, has just moved into its new quarters in Saint-Julien to showcase a collection of almost 70 vehicles. Run by volunteers and retired firefighters, the museum is an opportunity to discover the evolution of the firefighting profession and the techniques employed: hand pumps, horse-drawn pumps, trucks; each vehicle has its own story to tell.
