HERMITA DE SANT GRAU
The small chapel of Sant Grau, built in the 9th century, was the parish church of the town
The small chapel of Sant Grau, built in the 9th century, was the parish church of the town until the population became too large. It was also found that its location - in an area where there were many thermal springs - made it impossible for the bodies buried in its cemetery to decompose: they tended to mummify. The church of Sant Esteve was built to replace it, and the chapel became a municipal meeting place. Every 3rd of October the doors are reopened.
