The Rambla was to be used as a place to rest and stroll. Its instigator, Bartolomé Recolons, had planned at the beginning of the last century the construction of vast bourgeois residences to accommodate holidaymakers, mainly from Barcelona, who came to enjoy the benefits of the thermal waters. Walking along the rambla, one can marvel at the string of splendid modernist houses with their astonishing colours and rounded shapes.
