VULCAN PARK AND MUSEUM
This park houses the 17-metre bronze statue overlooking the southern part of the city and a museum. The statue represents Vulcain and was realized in 1904 at the World exposition in St. Louis. It was transferred here in 1938. It is the world's largest bronze statue and it makes pride in Birmingham. The museum is an interactive space to discover the history of the city and the three key mineral resources that have led to growth in the region: coal, limestone and iron ore. Among other things, we discovered what life was for minors in the th century and we visited a replica of a mining company at the time. Educational programmes are also offered on the site to the youngest.
