POINT PIÑOS LIGHTHOUSE
North of Pacific Grove is the beautiful Point Piños Lighthouse, which was first lit in 1855.
North of Pacific Grove is the Point Piños Lighthouse, first lit in 1855. It is one of the oldest lighthouses on the West Coast, still active today to light the coast guard. It stands 27 meters high and dominates the entire ocean. The place is beautiful and even if you don't stop there, you will see it from Highway 1. The lighthouse is now closed, but on the first floor the small museum can be visited on weekends. It is part of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
