Founded in 1996 by the philanthropist Sue Cannon and a few volunteers, the MCA is Denver's first institution dedicated to contemporary art. For seven years, he welcomed his visitors in a former fish market before creating, in 2007, his own structure, an environmentally friendly glass-cured glass-cube and signed David Adjaye. Today, the MCA is an innovative forum for contemporary art that highlights regional, national and international artists around exhibitions, performances, events and educational and creative programs, always innovative, sometimes even provocative.
