SANKATY HEAD LIGHT
Lighthouse located at the tip of the island, known for being one of the first in the country to have a Fresnel lens at Siasconset
The Siasconset Lighthouse is as good as its neighbor in Nantucket! Located at the east end of the island, it was built in 1850 and has had an automated system since 1965. The lighthouse had to be relocated in 2007 due to cliff erosion, so it is now 120 meters from its original construction site. The lighthouse is also known to be one of the first in the country to have a Fresnel lens. With its red and white colours, it is particularly pretty. The view from the cliffs is also breathtaking.
