FOREST DUNES GOLF CLUB
Located in the town of Roscommon, Michigan, Forest Dunes Golf Club is a golf course that offers a unique and peaceful experience. Nestled in the heart of the Huron National Forest, this 500-acre golf course was designed by British Open champion Tom Weiskopf. It blends classic style with modern enhancements, offering an interesting challenge to golfers of all levels. The course features a wide variety of landscapes, from open meadows and ancient pine forests to sand dunes and water hazards. The first nine holes are course-style, with fairways lined with red and Jack pines, as well as elaborate bunkers and sandy areas. The last nine holes are reminiscent of the famous Pine Valley course, with exposed natural sand areas and wild vegetation running through the fairways and greens. The course finishes in style with some memorable holes, including hole 16, a par three of over 200 yards that requires a daring shot over a rugged dune. Hole 17, a short 302-yard par four, is also an interesting challenge with its natural sand dunes and tall grasses. The course finishes with a 560-yard hole through an area of rugged dunes, offering a magnificent view of a lake.
