L'AUBERGE DU LAGON
Inn with infinity pool and panoramic view of the lagoon in Jeantac on Rodrigues Island.
Planted at the top of a small cliff with panoramic views over the lagoon from all units and the lovely infinity pool, this is a fairly recent establishment comprising several white and turquoise buildings set in a garden. These house a number of standard rooms with en suite bathrooms, and several apartments for 2 to 6 people with lounge, terrace and fully-equipped kitchen. Aimed more at independent travelers, the hostel also offers a catering service on request - breakfast and dinner.

The place is run down completely different from what you see in pictures and all other booking sites !
we had to argue to get our full refund back the moment we step in this place
And we went in a different hotel.
Room was clean with aircon. Terrace view over the lagoon was a feast for the eyes. Overall amazing experience. Highly recommended.
There is no one available to take your luggage to your room either.
They changed our room after multiple complaints but we had the same issue with the toilet shower. We discussed it with one of the families that was staying there and they are facing the same issue.
When booking, we were a bit unsure after reading all those negative reviews about this hotel. But our stay of 4 nights went superbly well. Staffs are very nice and polite, ready to help whenever possible. For a small hotel, the food was okay, with a small buffet at breakfast and dinner.
The hotel itself is some 2kms away from Port Mathurin, with easy access using different routes. We were welcomed with a glass of lemonade and then redirected towards our rooms which were already available before the official check in time (14hrs). Checkout time is 11am.
Rooms were good, well equipped with a kettle and a mini (empty) fridge, along with 2 small soaps and towels. They were cleaned everyday while we were away. Water was available during our whole stay despite the scarcity of water in the island.
A request to owner : Please provide necessary toilet cleaners so that clients can use them or at least, provide good products so that staffs can use to clean the toilets on a daily basis. Despite being in a clean state, the odor is quite unpleasant. Thanks.
I will definitely recommend anyone to go for Eden Bay when visiting the island. Do not always read (bad) reviews expecting things as if the place was a five star hotel resort.
