Hôtel bien situé, équipe très à l'écoute, accueillante et réactive.
Mais :
Chambre pas à la hauteur de la promesse pendant réservation: à peine un petit aperçu de la mer au lieu d'un vue mer tout court. Impossible de changer de chambre.
Trois coupures de courant pendant notre séjour, les deux matelas trop usés ont été changés, le conseil ne pas boire l'eau de robinet sans offrir (même faire payer) de l'eau au clients, communication info générale pas au top ou même absent pour certaines sujets.

Impressive and lovely moment.

A delightful property oozing all the right ingredients for a memorable stay in Mauritius. Located south of the capital Port Louis on the South West of the island, we chose the L’Imperial due to its proximity to the diving zones we wanted to explore. This was the first of two resorts we stayed at on the island during this visit. The second was on the other side of the island in Belle Mare.

From check-in to the dining, to the beach and the check-out experience, we had very little to fault the experience.

We were welcomed by a dedicated check-in clerk, who streamlined the entire experience, however delegated the explanation of the property to a colleague - this could’ve been enhanced by ensuring the same person is assigned throughout check-in.

We booked a direct beach access room. Well designed and modern. Came complete with all the required essentials.

We only dined at the main buffet restaurant, which was always a delight to explore, as each night was a different theme. Breakfast was lavish and despite the number of guests, never felt over crowded or busy.

Similar to the other resort we stayed at in Mauritius, The L’Imperial also suffers from an inadequate communication in the English language. Whilst all staff could speak the language, it’s clear that unless you spoke French or Mauritian/Creole, you should not expect “the full experience”. This is a real shame, as the island could be missing out on guests from more English speaking nations, such as from Europe, the Americas and Australia/New Zealand. To pay premium rates, travel a long distance to get to this remote island and not benefit from a through immersive experience, is a shame indeed.

We spent 11 nights at Sofitel in early November. Check-in was smooth and friendly and we felt very welcomed. The room was nice, clean and with all amenities. The cleaning service was great and respectful of our belongings. Hotel facilities were as expected and we made the most of what was available. I particularly appreciated the water points installed to minimise single-use plastic consumption - 5* for this! Since we were half-board, I can only provide opinions on breakfast and dinner. Food was fresh, with substantial variety and a good selection of local produce and fresh veg, fruit and seafood. The hotel also caters for those with non-diary requirements. Dinners were also tasty and the selection of food was amazing. Contrary to that drinks for dinners had to be bought - this includes water - IN PLASTIC BOTTLES - what is the point of reducing the usage of plastics if even the water has to be paid for during dinner time? I agree that alcoholic drinks, or even soft drinks can be changeable during dinner, but water shall be provided. The most irritating issue for me was that for 11 dinners we had, 9 times the waiter had not asked me ( the woman at the table) if I wanted anything to drink!!!! The question was always directed at my husband, who doesn't drink at all, therefore in the form of protest I decided to only order alcoholic drinks if I was acknowledged and asked If I wanted anything to drink! Huge loss for you the hotel, as it was me who booked the stay and me who would have a drink with dinner, but ignoring a woman at the table is above all just embarrassing.

L'hotel est situé sur une très jolie plage avec une vue magnifique. Nous étions dans une chambre rénovée vue mer. La literie est top et la chambre très calme et bien insonorisée.
L'accueil était parfait.
Nous étions en demi pension. La nourriture était tellement bonne et variée (chaque soir un thème différent) que nous n'avons pas essayé les autres restaurants de l'hôtel. Un grand bravo au chef !

Le bar de la plage est top. Merci à Gaspart pour sa gentillesse.
Petit bémol pour le restaurant de la plage. On y mange moins bien.
Le spa est magnifique ! Et le massage duo Nirvana est exceptionnel ! Merci à Georgina et Jeshnee.
Je tiens également à remercier le concierge Kendi qui est très pro et très efficace !
Sans parler de la direction qui a toujours été présente et à l'écoute.
Bref, malgré un temps plutot mitigé, nous avons passé des vacances merveilleuses et inoubliables.
