LA HACIENDA

This is THE PLACE, you would have to put in your priority staycation list! Nature, view, landscape and so much more.
I will not say more, just GO, EXPLORE and ENJOY.

La Hacienda Mauritius ist schön gelegen auf einem Berg mit guter Aussicht. Etwas problematisch ist die Anfahrt. Die Straße ist sehr steil und in der Mitte ein großer Versatz. Mit Kleinwagen da hoch zu kommen war immer ein kleines Abenteuer.
Irreführend fand ich tatsächlich die gebuchte Option "Frühstück inbegriffen". In meiner Vorstellungswelt ist das damit verbunden, dass man Frühstück serviert bekommt. Tatsächlich läuft das aber so, dass der Gastgeber Sameer, der aber sehr nett ist, morgens einem einen Korb mit in Plastik verpackten noch kalten Toast, Mangomarmelade, Butter und 4 Eier vor die Tür stellt, was man sich dann selbst zubereiten muss. Das war für mich persönlich nicht das, was ich unter "Frühstück inbegriffen" verstehe. Man sollte auch beachten, dass es kein Restaurant gibt und die Lage relativ abgeschieden ist. Man sollte also vorher einkaufen in Mahebourg.
Die Unterkunft selbst ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Meine Frau hatte beim Duschen direkt den Duschgriff in der Hand, was dann mittels Klebeband "repariert" wurde, dann aber tatsächlich wieder funktioniert hat :)
Wem das nicht so wichtig ist, findet in La Hacienda eine nette Unterkunft in vor allem sehr abgeschiedener und ruhiger Lage mit Riesenschildkröten im Hinterhof.

Amazing place on the foot of Mt Lion facing the Mahebourg sea. So peaceful and well maintained. Sameer was so helpful, arranging the hike on such short notice and always available to help around. I would really love to request for a kitchen to order from..... Would definitely come again...

Emplacement fabuleux et époustouflant au pied de la montagne du lion. Jolie décoration, cadre très agréable mais un grand manque de propreté...
Les poubelles jetées dehors face à la réception en pleine nature nous ont vraiment attristés.

If you are a nature lover, an animal lover, you love hiking, cold weather during winter season, peace and want to be away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and ALSO a great lover of airports and plane. You also want to change from sea, sand to winds, nice smell of green grass and the melody of the mountains: La hacienda lodge is the perfect place ???? Sameer was a great host who responded very quickly to all our needs. Such a nice and helpful person! The airport can be seen from far but you can assist to the arrival and departures of the planes from your terrace. Definitely a haven in the South of Mauritius Island????
