BISCUITERIE DE L’ABBAYE
Brand-new factory outlet for the famous Biscuiterie de l'Abbaye in Lonlay-l'Abbaye since 1909
In the beautifully refurbished factory outlet, you enter the replica of an old-fashioned grocery store after a pause in the micro-museum dedicated to the famous sablé de L'Abbaye. This Normandy specialty with Isigny butter was created over a century ago by the baker of Lonlay-l'Abbaye. You'll even see the original recipe calligraphed on a notebook page! Forgotten after the First World War, the recipe was revived by G. Lautour in 1941. In 1964, his son and son-in-law created the Biscuiterie. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength.
