AFRICA UNITY SQUARE
This small park of 2 ha is a green haven in the middle of Harare. It is invaded at lunchtime by city dwellers who want to rest and have lunch in the shade of the trees. Located in the heart of the city center, it is permanently lined with a small craft market and flower market and is home to the Publicity Association of Harare. It was previously named Cecil Square, not after Rhodes, but after Robert Cecil, the British Prime Minister when Fort Salisbury was formed. Its avenues were then laid out according to the British flag.
