The National Botanical Garden is a pleasant place to walk and relax. It was established in 1902. Covering 7 km², half of the gardens are devoted to plants indigenous to the forests of Zimbabwe and include most of the 750 species found in the country. Other sections contain plants typical of the African continent, including rare and endangered species, as well as exotic species. It also houses the national herbarium.
