In the same lineage and next to the Pamuzinda Safari Lodge, Chengeta is more affordable and also has many assets. Less than two hours from Harare, it is a family hotel made of wood and thatched roof, with a swimming pool and 16 lodges arranged in the garden behind the restaurant, and a family lodge for 5 people. Activities such as car safaris and horseback rides are available in their reserve, and live lions can be approached in the estate's secure enclosure. So you'll be sure to see some!

It was a shocking realization for me that I had last been here 10 years ago for a wedding. A few touch ups here and there to modernize the environment but primarily giving the lodge feel. The full board package was worth it and the quality of food had enough variety to keep a family group well occupied. The highlight of the trip was the game drive and it was good to get to see the game in the neighbouring Pamuzinda park. All in all value for money either the day trip or overnight.

Rooms were clean. It was OK ish. It's a pity the tourism sector is currently not booming, to probably justify spending some money on revamping the place. But certainly an upgrade is required on the Chengeta side. Bathrooms were clean. Floors were not tiled, geyser wasn't working well. So when the block of chalets was fully booked some rooms couldn't access hot water. The meals were good. Kudos to the chef and team. The ranger that took us on the game driver was very professional and engaging. He had so much information to impart to us. Thank you team Chengeta...

Our room was incomplete and full of wall cracks. The service was bad it's like they had new staff. I was disappointed. However the food and horse riding were great.

Quickly checking in, we couldn't wait to dive into the incredible buffet lunch awaiting us. The tantalizing aromas and mouthwatering dishes teased our senses, and every bite was a culinary delight.
The real magic began with the game drive. Our guides were not just knowledgeable but also incredibly engaging, regaling us with fascinating facts and stories about the wildlife we encountered. From majestic giraffes gracefully munching on leaves to herds of impala and zebra grazing peacefully, each sighting left us in awe of nature's wonders.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in a vibrant array of colors, we returned to the lodge feeling exhilarated and fulfilled. The day had been a whirlwind of excitement and adventure, made even more special by the attentive and exceptional staff who made us feel truly welcomed and cared for.
Chengeta Safari Lodge isn't just a place to stay; it's an immersive experience that leaves you feeling alive and connected to the beauty of the natural world.
