The ruins of Nyahokwe, located northeast of the Ziwa site and north of Nyanga Park, are very similar to other remains discovered in the area. However, they are distinguished by the existence of 80 small cavities. According to archaeologists, these cavities would have been used to crush iron-bearing rocks, and the remains of ovens have been found. This suggests that the local populations practiced foundry and manufactured various iron utensils, intended for domestic work as well as for commercial exchanges.
