This spacious house, located at the exit of the village, in a nice garden, has 4 rooms: 2 doubles, a twin and a suite. They are simple but well kept. In addition to the breakfasts, you can have lunch or dinner on the spot, provided that you give a little notice. Barbara, the manager, is also the cook and she prepares good home-made dishes. She prepares even the bread and knows how to adapt to the desires and diets of the customers. The house also offers its own guiding service to discover the region.

■ The hosts of Stonehouse lodge, Douglas and Barbara, are the most hospitable, welcoming and warm hosts we've ever known. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy.
■ The bedrooms are roomy, clean and beds very comfortable.
■ Their food menu has a variety which is palatable. well cooked and presented, and very reasonably priced. ...some of the best meals ever...
■ Stonehouse Lodge is located in a quiet, safe area and convenient for visiting many places of interest in Chimanimani.
■ I recommend other visitors to make Stonehouse Lodge their preferred choice

The hosts are amazingly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and a delight to stay with. We booked the ensuite double and loved the king size comfortable bed with crispy sheets. Wifi worked well. Barbara is a fantastic cook and besides a sumptuous full English breakfast, she does delightful dinners or lunches on request. We got excellent advice on the areas hiking trails. Shops in Chimanimani are limited, so bring your own goodies and drinks if you wish. We enjoyed great hospitality, food and personal attendance. This exceptional place comes highly recommended.

We really loved our stay at Stonehouse Lodge.
It is such a cozy and homey place and a great location to explore Chimanimani untouched and underrated area.

This place was by far our best accommodation in Zimbabwe.

There is a lovely family running this lodge, Barbara, Douglas and their daughter Michelle will make you feel at home.

We stayed in the bedroom with a private en-suite bathroom and they also have options of rooms with shared bathroom.
There is a nicely decorated common dinning area.
With advance notice you can also request breakfast, lunch and dinner of the highest quality.

We loved the breakfast on the porch at the sun listening the birds chirping on their peaceful garden. Barbara also cooks incredible homemade pasta, salad, etc, that was accompanied with delicious bread freshly baked by Douglas. We had by far the best food in Zimbabwe.

The only little downside is that, unfortunately, due to poor infrastructure in the community ,the water pressure is very low, so you need to be patient to have a shower, but the water is hot and good, and we managed nicely during our stay.

Additionally, they can help you with wise advise to explore the natural wonders of Chimanimani Area, on top of that, Michelle is a great guide to take you to amazing horseback riding tours and accompany you for hiking. We went with her ridding across rivers, climbing up mountains and traversing the forest. Also we hiked to nearby Bridal Veil Waterfalls and a viewpoint.

Douglas also helped us with a problem we had with our car key and gave us precious tips, advise and contacts about Victoria Falls where he was an expert of white water rafting.

We have very fond memories of our time here.
