Main Camp is the main entrance to Hwange National Park and a must on any tour of Zimbabwe. The surrounding area is divided into small open plains bordering water bodies in the center, and stretches of wooded savannah or very dense scrub. The wildlife is also very abundant, which explains the popularity of tourists and local tour operators for this particular area of the park, which is very popular during the school vacations. There is a campground, cabins, a bar-restaurant, a small grocery store and a gas station.
