ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK
At 6 km upstream of the falls, a park of 56 000 ha is shared, divided between forest and shrub savanna or trees. Along the Zambezi River over 40 km, this protected area attracts a multitude of wild animals and is a pleasant safari place for all travelers spent a few days in Victoria Falls. The park is well-equipped and has easy access to the river along the river, as well as numerous picnic sites with beautiful views of the Zambéziennes islands. Especially famous for its black hippotragues herds, the park also houses elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, baboons, green, koudous, impalas, growing kobs and some cats.
The park is very easy to access: Once in Victoria Falls, borrow Park Way in direction of the Zambezi Nature Sanctuary; The entrance to the national park is a few hundred metres away. If you don't have a car, the city agencies can organise a 4 X 4 safari on foot or horse riding. Persons wishing to camp in the park will have to reserve their place in the city with the National Parks Office.
