A festival that celebrates Hippocrates from June to the end of October. The whole island of Kos is celebrating: gastronomic fairs, concerts, readings, sporting events.
For over 30 years, the island of Kos has hosted its most important cultural festival of the year, from early June to late October: the Hippocratia Festival. The oath of Hippocrates, the island's great historical figure, is traditionally recited, while concerts, readings, sporting events, gastronomic fairs, religious celebrations and ancient and modern shows follow one another throughout most of the tourist season. Most of Kos-ville's events are held in the medieval castle or Eleftherias Square, but the whole island takes part.
