Était renseigné en "must see" mais... Peu photogénique, sans grand intérêt car l'arbre semble mort ou presque... Le chateau en face, accessible par un pont en pierre, est bien plus digne d'intérêt et offre une belle vue sur la mer alentour !!

L'arbre d'Hippocrate sur Kos est impressionnant par sa taille mais les épreuves du temps ont obligé à un étayage, ce qui gâche la photo. Les alentours sont en réhabilitation après le dernier séisme.

L'arbre d'Hippocrate est bien fatigué et plus très photogénique. Les monuments alentours comme la mosquée porte les séquelles du tremblement de terre du 21 juillet 2017. Le lieu est néanmoins ombragé et invite à la détente... beaucoup de chats !

Une légende qui ne date certes pas d'Hippocrate mais qui permet d'honorer sa mémoire.
Les grilles de protections et la structure de support, métalliques, gâchent le plaisir des yeux. Restent l'environnement, rues et petite place, plutôt agréables.

Beau platane nommé Hippocrate. Il surplombe une partie de la place et il donne de l'ombrage. Idéal pour flaner, manger une glace ou déguster un jus d'orange fait maison. Dommage qu'il soit maintenu à cause de son grand âge par des structures métalliques.

L'intérêt est vraiment son grand âge et l'histoire d’Hippocrate ... C'est vrai que les armatures en ferraille doivent le soutenir, ce qui n'est pas vraiment esthétique.
Le château de l'autre côté de la rue est de mon humble avis plus intéressant.

A beautiful tree in the charming historic town of Kos. You can admire around a well built from remains of ancient Rome, the old town as well as the tower of the fortress of the Knight about Saint Jean ' Order of Malta ', as well as the agora ancient Greek old town.
In the city centre Kos afternoon snack absolutely ice cream orange or orange juice served in the cafes located near the tree of Hippocrates. The orange is a fruit grown on the island is full of sugar and excellent.

This tree is actually if I reminder, descendant of planted by HIPPOCRATES. This tree is really impressive structure maintenance metal spoils the beauty of the place, anything else could have been plan in order to keep the aesthetics and spirituality, but it is only my humble opinion.
