A memorial at Mont-Ormel, retracing the history of the fighting between the Allies and soldiers of the German Army.
Located 18 kilometres from Argentan, on hill 262 overlooking the Pays d’Auge, this place of remembrance enjoys a calm that is far removed from the history it recounts: the battles that pitted the four Allied nations against the soldiers of the German VIIth Army, encircled in the Falaise-Chambois pocket. It was on the very site of the Memorial, from 18 to 22 August 1944, that the epilogue to the bloody battle of Normandy was played out, with the loss of more than 10,000 lives.

Located on the very spot of the battle between Argentan and Vimoutiers, the Memorial offers an exceptional view over the valley of la Dives. The museum area describes in four languages, the extent of the battle and its challenges. Film, animated dioramas, the presentation of site relics complement the explanations of a guide.

Beau musée avec de nombreux objets en exposition sous vitrine ou en "libre" à la vue. Un autre film dans une salle en présentation, sur des témoignages de combattants du lieu, émouvant et poignant. Endroit à fréquenter et faire connaitre sans modération
