BASS HARBOR HEAD LIGHTHOUSE
Small lighthouse on Mount Desert Island, manned by coast guards, with small trails with breathtaking views.
Every year, tens of thousands of tourists come to admire this small lighthouse on the site of the commune of Tremont nicknamed "the quiet side". It must be said that its location, on a mountainside and facing the sea, is quite spectacular and in fact one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine. It is the only lighthouse on Mount Desert Island. Currently the home of the local Coast Guard Commander, the lighthouse is surrounded by small trails offering breathtaking views.
