EAGLE LAKE
Large freshwater lake in the national park offering fishing, kayaking and canoeing.
Accessible from Bar Harbor, Eagle Lake is a fishing, kayaking and canoeing lake. It is the largest freshwater lake in the national park. To get around it, simply follow the Carriage Road hiking trail, accessible on foot or by bike, for around 6 miles (a good 2-hour walk). Fishing is permitted (a fishing license is required for those over 12). From the western shore of the lake, you can admire Cadillac Mountain - an experience not to be missed at sunrise or sunset.
