ISLE ABOVE
Small, relatively isolated wilderness island 5 miles from Stonington with a rudimentary camping area at Duck Harbor
This small wild island, which is not uninhabited, however, as it is home to some 70 souls all year round, is relatively isolated. It is located 5 miles from Stonington, the nearest town, and is even further from the main part of Acadia National Park. Approximately 60% of the island has been designated as parkland. A trail from approximately 13 km goes around it. There is a primitive campsite at Duck Harbor. Camping is available on the island. It can only be reached by ferry from Stonington.
