The volunteer-run museum presenting the work and life of philosopher Alain has moved from the Maison des Comtes du Perche to the Hôtel de Puisaye, a late 18th-century building with a turret. Alain - whose real name was Émile-Auguste Chartier - was born in Mortagne-au-Perche in 1868. Discover his reconstructed study at Le Vésinet and the Alain collection: a collection of books, magazines, photographs and paintings. Alain depicted the Perche region and the capital of the Perche ornais in a collection of texts entitled Portraits de famille.
